THE DAILY STANDARD

NINE EXPRESSIONS. ONE FRUIT. EVERYDAY LIFE.

A proposed 90-day companion for bringing Scripture into ordinary conversations, decisions, responsibilities, and relationships. Ten days with each expression of the fruit of the Spirit. Not a measure of your maturity, and never a way to earn God’s love.

Part of THE FIRST STANDARD, alongside FOUNDATIONS JOURNAL. THE NINE DEVOTIONAL brings the fruit of the Spirit into real relationships, difficult decisions, emotional challenges, and ordinary life. THE DAILY STANDARD remains the existing editorial development title. Manuscript, final title treatment, printing and fulfillment require approval before purchase.

BEFORE YOU ANSWER.

SCRIPTURE READING / Galatians 5:22–23; James 1:19–20. Read the full passages in your preferred Bible translation.

PRACTICAL APPLICATION / A sharp message arrives. Before answering, pause and ask what love requires of you, not what will help you win. Listening does not mean agreeing with everything. You can speak truthfully, set a boundary, and refuse to humiliate the person in front of you.

REFLECT / Where am I responding to protect my pride? What have I not yet listened to? What would a truthful, patient next step look like today?

PRAY / Lord Jesus, shape my response by Your love. Help me listen before speaking, tell the truth with gentleness, and seek the good of others rather than the last word. Amen.

UPWARD / Bring your first response to Christ in prayer. OUTWARD / Listen to the person before replying. DOWNWARD / Steward your attention and the spaces entrusted to you; put the phone aside and return to your responsibilities with care.

NINE THEMES / Love. Joy. Peace. Patience. Kindness. Goodness. Faithfulness. Gentleness. Self-Control. One fruit of the Spirit, expressed through everyday life.
