SELF-CONTROL
Self-control is Spirit-enabled restraint that orders desires, speech, and behavior toward love and faithful obedience.
Titus 2:11–14; Galatians 5:16–25; James 1:19–20
God’s grace trains His people to live differently. Walking by the Spirit is not self-salvation: it is dependence on God expressed in concrete choices.
UPWARD
Ask Christ for help with one recurring impulse. Receive grace without excusing harm.
OUTWARD
Be quick to listen and slow to speak. Do not use anger as permission to injure others.
DOWNWARD
Set a wise limit on spending, screen time, or consumption to make room for entrusted responsibilities.
PRACTICE TODAY
Pause before one habitual reaction. Name the desire, pray, and choose a loving next action.
REFLECT
What tends to master my attention? What support or boundary could help me act faithfully?
